The Academy’s curriculum is developed in collaboration with elementary educators and aligned with National and State Science and Math Standards, with a strong emphasis on engineering and technology.
Lessons incorporate the 5E instructional model—Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate—and are designed to engage students critical thinking, problem solving, and collaboration through the engineering design process embedded in hands-on open-ended design projects.
Students learn about influential figures in STEM and participate in interactive sessions supported by undergraduate STEM majors, who serve as mentors and facilitators.
The program fosters inclusive learning environments by promoting cooperative learning, real-world applications, and family engagement through events that connect classroom experiences to home and community.
