Maria Abejide

Greetings! I'm Name Abejide, currently a senior at the University of Houston, majoring in Computer Information Systems. It's a privilege for me to join the St. Elmo Brady STEM Academy as a mentor in my final year.

As I embark on my mentorship journey, I am eager to bring my technical knowledge and enthusiasm for technology to support the aspiring minds of this program. My academic path has been enriched with computer programming, data management, and information security coursework. I'm passionate about the world of technology and excited to share that passion with the next generation.

In addition to my academic pursuits, I am also an active member of the university's tech community. I've been involved with various campus organizations and am currently the T.O.R.C.H. (Technical Outreach and Community Help) Chair in UH NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers). In this role, I've had the opportunity to lead outreach efforts, connect with the community, and promote STEM education.

Outside of academics, I enjoy staying up to date with the latest tech trends and participating in hackathons. I firmly believe that mentorship is a two-way exchange of knowledge, and I'm looking forward to sharing what I know and learning from my mentees.

I'm excited to embark on this mentorship journey with St. Elmo Brady's program to help guide, inspire, and learn from the next generation of tech leaders.
